Sarah has over 15 years experience teaching a wide variety of instruments and styles. Former students are members of the National Youth Orchestra and Wind Orchestra, and have achieved places at major conservatoires throughout the UK.
In 2000 Sarah was awarded the Royal Academy of Music’s prestigious Meaker Fellowship, which enabled her to continue her studies, oversee woodwind performance classes and create new projects at RAM. Masterclasses given include the University of Massachusetts, the University of South Africa and closer to home at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Sarah has been involved in ENO’s Bayliss Project - children’s summer workshops to produce a showcase based on an opera - for a number of years. She is a tutor for the Benslow Music Trust, and in 2007 was invited to coach the National Saxophone Ensemble of Great Britain.
Sarah is currently the Visiting Tutor of saxophone at Birmingham Conservatoire’s Junior Department, and also teaches saxophone and clarinet at Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton. Previous posts include the University of Warwick, the St Marylebone School in London and Bedales School. In addition Sarah is an external examiner and entrance audition panellist for both clarinet and saxophone at Trinity College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.
